This edition of the Honda VTX 1800 N is the 5 speed | Manual version and was first brought out in 2008. This was at around the same time as the introduction of the 2008 Suzuki GSX-R 1000 Team Rizla Suzuki Moto GP Repl and the 2008 Suzuki GSX-R 1000 Limited Edition.This particular Honda VTX 1800 has a 1795cc Liquid cooled, Two stroke, Horizontal In-Line Petrol powerplant with 2 cylinders and Electronic Fuel Injection.

Suzuki GV 700 GL Madura - [1984] image

An alternative Horizontal In-Line engine, Cruiser style motorbike includes the Suzuki GV 700 GL Madura - [1984]

The 2008 VTX 1800 shares its Horizontal In-Line engine and Cruiser style configuration with the likes of the 1984 Suzuki GV 700 GL Madura and the 1978 Yamaha XS 750 Special. Alternatively, if you're looking for other bikes which share the VTX 1800's Cruiser style with a similar size of engine then how about the 2020 Yamaha V-Max 1.7 | 2020cc.2018 Yamaha V-Max 1.7 | 2018cc.

Power and Torque:

Weighing in at 364.7 kgs (804 lbs) this makes the Honda VTX 1800 N in the same weight category as the 2019 Kawasaki VN 1700 Vulcan Vaquero or the 2019 Suzuki Boulevard - Intruder C 90 T, give or take 50kg.

Yamaha MT-09 Y-AMT - [2025] image

The 2008 Honda VTX 1800 shares the same bhp with the Yamaha MT-09 Y-AMT - [2025]

In terms of power the 1795cc 6 valve Horizontal In-Line 2 cylinder engine produces 107 bhp (79 kW) @ 5000 rpm similar to the 2025 Yamaha MT-09 Y-AMT [117.4 bhp (87 kW) @ 10000 rpm] or the 2025 Yamaha YZF-R9 Triple [117.4 bhp (87 kW) @ 10000 rpm].

The SOHC Two stroke unit throws out torque of 20.2 lb-ft (27.3 Nm) @ 3000 rpm placing it alongside motorbikes of similar performance figures such as the 2025 Yamaha WR 250 F [17.8 lb-ft (24.2 Nm) @ 8100 rpm] and the 2024 Kawasaki Ninja 7 Hybrid [32.1 lb-ft (43.5 Nm) @ 7500 rpm].

Yamaha XJ 650 Maxim - [1982] image

The 1982 Yamaha XJ 650 Maxim has similar Bhp Per Ton stats as the 2008 Honda VTX 1800 N.

The 2008 Honda VTX 1800 N has a Power to weight ratio of 293.3 bhp per ton and 55.3 lb-ft per ton. Bhp Per Ton figures of the 2008 VTX 1800 competing with the 1982 Yamaha XJ 650 Maxim [318.3 bhp\ton] and the 1981 Yamaha XJ 650 Midnight Maxim [318.3 bhp\ton].

Power to Weight(cont.):

If you agree with the late great Carroll Shelby, then arguably an even better indicator of potential performance is Torque. Factor weight into the equation and you end up with - Torque per ton, with the Honda VTX 1800 generating around 55.3 lb-ft per ton. If you're curious as to what other motorbikes have as much torque to weight then look no further than the 2008 Kawasaki VN 2000 Vulcan Classic LT [80.0 lb-ft per ton] and the 1973 Yamaha DT 125 Two Stroke [80.0 lb-ft per ton].

Acceleration:

With a 0-60mph time of 12.6 secs or a 0-100km/h (0-62mph) of 12.9 secs, this makes the Honda VTX 1800 N similar in acceleration to the 2008 Kawasaki VN 2000 Vulcan (12.6 secs) and the 2007 Honda VTX 1800 T (12.6 secs). This Honda VTX 1800 N also competes in terms of 0-60 mph and 0-100km/h with the 2018 Honda CB 250 R Neo Sports Cafe (0.0 secs) and the 2020 Norton Superlight SS (0.4 secs).
